Borken David (Avraham Lazer), age 94, of St.
Louis Park, formerly of Duluth, MN on February 18, 2004. Born October 12,
1909 in Lithuania. Immigrated to the US in 1911. A respected grocer and owner
of former Knox Food Market. Awarded Purple Heart for injuries sustained in
World War II, Pacific Theater Saipan. Preceded in death by parents, David
& Pearl; brother, Ben; sisters, Bessie Klatzky and
Dorothy Witkin; granddaughter, Jenna Lyn Borken; grandson, Jesse Evan Borken.
Survived by wife of 62 years, Sylvia; daughter & son-in-law, Paula &
Michael Beugen; sons & daughters-in-law, Sandy & Faye and Daniel
& Marcy; sisters, Ida Borken and Ann Schwartz Cohn; grandchildren, Jay,
Jed (Kristin), Joshua, Jeremy, Jonas (Angela), Brett (fiancee, Emily) and
Andrea (Eric); great-grandchildren, Evan, Megan and Cole. Funeral service
THURSDAY, 12 NOON, BETH EL SYNAGOGUE, 5224 West 26th St, St. Louis Park. In
lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Beth El Syn, Gemilat Hesed or the
Roitenberg Assisted Living. David was a gentle man with a giant heart. He
